1966 Olympia DeLuxe Typewriter

My latest obsession: old typewriters. Specifically, this 1966 Olympia DeLuxe manual typewriter in MINT condition. This beautiful example of German engineering is evident in every keystroke, in every mechanical movement and in every sound that you hear when the metal script letters strike the paper and the roller beneath. Bonus: this typewriter is portable and requires no electricity. The script type that this machine renders is exquisite, especially when examined closely. Which makes me think that a revival of this Olympia DeLuxe Script could be an exciting type project in the very near future. Stay tuned and keep typing!

Beautiful. Is it for sale yet? I love it. Sort of your own mini letterpress with only one font. VERY cool - good find.

I didn't know what I had until I looked online. I have the same typewriter with the original case if you're interested.

Tracie, I think I will just keep this one for now. I have come across another Olympia (electric) that I'm interested in. I'm still learning more about them and am really interested in the typography.

Hi,
Can you tell me, where would one find the serial number? My Mum has an old De Luxe but, although I could find the "Made in.." info, I couldn't see the serial no.
